The Final Assignment & Project 10B : RUS 101 XZBIT

23 October 2010.

Salam dear all.

Wishing everyone good health and happiness.

For the final assignment we were required to describe the most meaningful transformation that we have personally experienced throughout the Studio.

The assignment as posted by a friend on FB

Dalam projek ini, kami telah diberi tugasan untuk mempamerkan hasil karya kami sempena Soul Shift Conference graced by our Guest of Honour, Tuan Syed Mohd Bakar bin Syed Mohd Salim as in the poster below.

Preparations were made prior to this event, but I could not participate for I was down with fever. My gratitude to all lecturers and studio mates who have worked so hard to make this Conference and Exhibition possible. Thank you also for keeping me informed throughout the preps.

The studio is cleared, thanks to RUS 101 volunteers.

... and tidied. No traces of debris and left-overs around...

Alhamdulillah, on D-Day, I was up and about and managed to capture some snapshots. Check 'em out...

The banner announcing the Exhibition.

Berbahagia Tuan Syed Mohd. Bakar bin Syed Mohd. Salim, the founder and curator of USM Traditional Toys and Games Muzeum, SAINS@USM. Kami juga dimaklumkan Tuan Syed adalah guru kepada Cik Wan... the Sifu and the Successor... Well, it was really good to see them both, para ilmuwan yang banyak pengalaman.

Bakar. It was indeed a very inspiring and motivating talk...

Then our VVIP was ushered to the SOUL SHIFT XZBIT gallery (the studio has acquired a totally new look) which was really cool!

The overall ambiance was awesome. Dymaxion globes were arranged according to the golden section creating a very artistic layout.

My dymaxion... yang mengabadikan potret saya dan my rock legend Amy Search...

Sarong and geodesic domes put on display... Buckminster Fuller with a touch of Pak Awang and Mak Minah?

A closer look...

Dome-kopiah? Fashion trend-setters in the making.

Time to pose (Thanks, bro')

I like...

The Emotional and the "Selamba" papier mache masks from Project 2C...

Me and the masks...

The BST (fond acronym of bamboo sound tools)

"Tensgrity" (tension and integrity). Singly it looks awkward, many together they look more presentable...

The crowd was boleh tahanlah...

Kemudian tibalah acara yang ditunggu-tunggu - MAKAN... But I was doing a favour for a friend, click, click, click!

Our VVIP turut sama menjamu selera bersama-sama kami. Humility goes a long way, Sir...

Bila saya nak makan ni? Arghh...
